Fern Hoover died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on November 10, 2011.

She was a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star. She was a 25+ year member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 053-07-09. She was a railroader's daughter who grew up in Port Morris, lived in Stanhope for 30 years before moving to Forked River 30 years ago. In 1956, she and her husband co-founded Hoover Truck Centers, a construction company that evolved into a heavy duty truck dealership which is now in it's 2nd generation of business.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 25th at 11a at the Port Morris United Methodist Church, 296 Center St., Landing, NJ.
