He was born on Jan 3, 1920, at Moores Store and was a son of the late Jacob Lawrence and Annie Geneva Hepner Wellard.
Mr. Wellard was a farmer and World War II Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Solomon's Lutheran Church in Forestville.
His wife, Rachel Hannah Kline Wellard, preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Melinda Gordy of Quicksburg; two sisters, Mary Long of Timberville and Janice May of Shenandoah; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Burial in Solomon's Church Cemetery.
