Itha Lovina Parkes Gadd, age 94, passed away Sept. 5, 2002, in Orem, Utah.

She was born March 27, 1908, in Nephi, Utah, to Thomas Henry George and Goldie Itha Bigler Parkes. She married Alfred LeRoy Gadd Aug. 7, 1935, in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away Feb. 25, 1993.

She attended Utah State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Brigham Young University. She taught elementary school in Nephi for many years with an emphasis on reading. Active in the LDS Church she held many leadership and teaching positions. She served with her husband Fred as a worker in the Manti Temple.

She is survived by her children, Carol Kingsolver of Provo, Dr. Galen N. Gadd of Orem, Margaret J. Brady of Littleton, Colorado, James Fred Gadd of Los Angeles, California; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margarett Madsen of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Vera Deane Blackburn of St. George; a brother, George B. Parkes of Riverside, California. She was preceded in death by granddaughter; four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Sept. 9, 2002, at the Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
