PHILIP R. WALLIS After an illness of two weeks Philip R. Walks passed away on Sunday at .10 o clock P. Al., due to pneumonia, his three sisters, a nurse and he family were constantly at his bedside, the latter part of his illness. Mr. Warns was born in Philadelphia, the son of Thomas and Mary Wallis. September 30. 1859. He was baptized in infancy and early in life became a staunch member of the First Presbyterian church, 7th and Washington Square, Philadelphia. On November 5, 1903, he was united n marriage with Etta Mattis, by the Rev. C. P. Kuder. He immediately transferred his church membership to Salem Lutheran church, of which he remained a faithful and loyal member unto his death, as well as a member of its various allied organizations. He was intensely interested in the cause of Missions and very liberally supported every movement of his church. I he church s welfare was one of the concerns of his life. Before coming to Elizabethville Mr. Wallis had traveled quite extensively. touring Europe and the United States For a while he lived in New Mexico and California. After closing out his business in Philadelphia he came to Elizabethville and allied himself with the Swab Wagon Co., of which he was the head of one of its departments at the time of his death. A loyal and devoted husband in the home, he leaves it cheerless and sad, passing away at the age of 63 years. 4 months and 25 days. He leaves a widow, three sisters, lone, Gene and Ida, and two step brothers, Mountie and Rev. Ralph, all of Philadelphia. the funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 o'clock at the house with the main services in Salem Lutheran church, Kev. W. Z. Artz officiating. $nterment in Maple Grove cemetery. Funeral Director, George Buffington.
