Albert was noted for his camping trips to the Chambers Creek bottom land. He would load up his wagon with lanterns, fishing gear and sleeping equipment, then load an old fashion gramophone on top and head off down the road with the gramophone playing. He died at an early age of TB.

The following story was narrated by his daughter Ruby Elizabeth (Gorman) Bailey in 1986:

"I was only eleven years of age when my father Albert died. He had been ill with T. B. for five years before his death and was kept in isolation from the family during that time. Mom did not allow us to be around him very much because she was so afraid that we might get this disease. At that time there was not a cure for tuberculosis other than bed rest and good nutrition. Mom would work so hard to take care of him and provide for her six children. She is to be commended for her efforts. To raise six children during the Depression years and to see that we all got a high school education. She worked terribly hard and long hours. I don't know how she did it but she was a very strong and determined person...and a very good Christian. She was a great believer in Prayer. Of course, we all worked hard. We had our chores to do in the mornings and evenings and in the fields in the summer.

We had the good times too. We did not know we were poor. We enjoyed a large loving family. There were always visits of relatives and friends. We had good neighbors. We lived about three miles from Rankin school and that was a long walk. We went to Rankin Baptist Church which was an even further three and one-half miles away. We walked most of the time, but we had good friends to walk beside us."

He married Lois Elsie Rogers on Christmas day, December 25, 1911. They had the following children:

1) Harold Clinton GORMAN, b: November 22, 1913 in Ellis Co
2) Edrie Earlene GORMAN, b: July 02, 1915 in Rankin, Ellis County, Texas
3) Ruby Elizabeth GORMAN, b: November 11, 1916 in Ellis Co., Texas
4) James Alvin GORMAN, b: June 21, 1918 in Ellis Co., Texas
5) Bob Bryant GORMAN. b: November 27, 1919 in Ellis Co., Texas
6) Myrtle Frances GORMAN, b: October 31, 1924 in Ellis Co., Texas
