James Floyd Condreay, 88, of 523 South Fourth St., Monmouth, IL., died at 902 P.M. Tuesday (January 31, 1984) in Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 5, 1895, in Middle Grove, Fulton County, Illinois, a son of Dennis and Martha Ann Thompson Condreay. He was raised and educated in Fulton County, Illinois. H first married Ethel Monroe January 9, 1919, at White Hall, Illinois. His second marriage was to Ruby Phipps Lodwick September 25, 1948 at Galesburg, Illinois.
Mr. Condreay was a farmer and a carpenter and was employed for a time by the Santa Fe Railroad. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church, and was a sergent in the Army during World War I, serving in Company F, the Fourth Regiment.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, James Condreay and Fred Condreay of Alpha, Ky., Robert Condreay and Harold Condreay of Galesburg, IL., and Walter of Cameron, IL.; three daughters Juanita DeJaynes of Abingdon, IL., Martha Reeves of East Galesburg, IL., and Karen Condreay of Monmouth, IL.; 33 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and one stepson, David Lodwick of Huston, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Vivian Tinkham, five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday in Turnbull Funeral Home, Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday and Saturday in the funeral home, where family will be from 7 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Friday.
