Edward Gideon Ekstrom, 68, of 704 South Boulevard, died Thursday in his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Ekstrom was the owner of the E.G. Ekstrom Tailor and Cleaner at 1911 Central Street. He had been in the tailoring business in North Evanston for 46 years. Born in Chicago, Mr. Ekstrom came to Evanston after his marriage 43 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and served with a machine gun battalion in the infantry.
He was a member of Emmanual Methodist Church and sang in the choir of the first Methodist Church until last year. In addition to his wife Grace, surviving are a son, Ellwood Ross Ekstrom of Bloomington, IN and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Johnston of Skokie. Services were Saturday at the Hebblethwaite chapel with the Reverend John J. Main Of Emmanuel Methodist officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park.
