Brabham lived in Sumter most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
After the war, he operated his own independent insurance agency and later sold insurance for Connecticut Mutual and Colonial Life.
He was an active participant in his church, Crosswell Baptist, served as president of the Sumter Lions Club in 1957-58, and was a member of Post 15 of the American Legion for 62 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail Miles and her husband, John of Valley, AL; and by two sons, Robert F. 'Robin' Brabham and his wife, Edla of Charlotte, NC, and Joseph Eugene Brabham and his wife, Frances, of Georgetown, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years; a daughter; four brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles F. Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
