John Wesley Adams was the son of John Wesley Adams and Carolina Powell Adams. He was a cadet at the West Florida Seminary (now Florida State University) in Tallahassee, Florida when he fought at the Battle of Natural Bridge on March 6, 1865. The battle was fought to save the Capitol of Florida, Tallahassee, from being captured by the Union Army.
