LIONEL C. HUGILL PASSES IN 69TH YEAR The death occurred on Thursday night, August 12th of Lionel C. Hugill, a highly respected citizen of the town for many years. Mr. Hugill, who was in his 69th year, passed away at the home of his son, Carl, Lot 2, Concession 4, North Oxford [township]. Born in Dereham [township], the late Mr. Hugill had resided in Ingersoll for 46 years and was very widely and favourably known, both here and in the surrounding district. During his residence here, he had been engaged in planing mill work. First he was with the firm of Nagle & Mills, then with the late Robert Winlaw and for the past 6 years he had been with George H. Mason. He was a member of the Baptist church. Mr. Hugill was deservedly popular with all with whom he came in contact and his death will be keenly felt by many. Left to mourn his passing are his widow, one daughter; ..... and one son, Carl, all of North Oxford [township]. There are also two grandchildren, ....., North Bay, and ...., North Oxford [township]. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fred S. Newman Funeral Home, Rev. George A. McLean of the Ingersoll Baptist Church conducted the service which was very largely attended. There were many beautiful flowers with bespoke esteem for the late Mr. Hugill. During the service, .....as her accompanist, sang a solo. Interment took place at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery and the bearers were ...... Among those from out of town who attended the service were .... of Toronto, a brother; Mrs. ...., Thorndale; and Mrs. ..... of Courtland, sisters
