A solemn high mass was sung for John F. Boland at St. Patrick's church in Seneca, Monday, Oct. 1 with Father Bauman pastor, Father Mitchell of Richland Center, former pastor at Seneca, and Father Chester of Rising Sun officiating. He passed away Friday, Sept. 28, following a lingering illness. He suffered a second stroke two weeks before his death.
John, as he was known to his scores of friends, was a life long resident of Seneca, son of the late David and Jane Boland. He was born Aug. 16, 1875.
He leaves to mourn two daughters; Mrs. George J. (Mary) Vickman of Carson City, Colo., and Mrs. Joseph L. (Margaret) Cain of Soldiers Grove and two sons, Charles and David of Seneca. Twenty grandchildren, also survive. His wife preceded him in death ten years ago.
