Paul Hurd Bowers passed away on Sunday, February 19, 1995 at the age of 101 years,
in Northshire Residence at Spencer.
Interment in Garfield Cemetery.

Paul's childhood years were spent throughout the state of Iowa where he received his early education. His family later moved to Spencer in Iowa where he attended Spencer High School. Following his education, he worked as a mechanic at Arnolds Park and later at Webb.
In August 1918, with his crops still in the field, he was called into the Army. He went first to Camp Dodge at Des Moines, then to Camp Forrest in Georgia, then to Fort Sheridan in Alabama. After his discharge from the Army
he returned to farming.
Paul and Jessie farmed on various farms in Herdland and Garfield townships; in 1951
they bought a farm at Freeman township
near Dickens.
After Jessie's death, Paul continued to live on the farm until his retirement in 1978 when he moved into Sunset Apartments at Spencer.
