A. J. Lawler died last Friday morning at his late residence, five miles southwest of this place, of cancer of the spleen. Drs. Parr and Smith examined the body Saturday morning, and found an encepholoid, or soft cancer, involving the entire spleen and pancreas. The cancerous mass weighed thirteen pounds. Lawler had been sick nearly six months.
