Mrs. Jennie Frances (McIntyre) Grimes, widow of William Franklin Grimes and member of one of Tippecanoe county’s oldest families died at the family home 1215 Kossuth Street, at 8:40 o’clock Tuesday night after a long illness. Her husband died nine years ago. Widely-known here, she was educated in the public schools and in the old Stockwell Academy teaching music for many years. She married Mr. Grimes on December 24, 1893 and was a life-long member of the Methodist church. During residence at Lafayette she was affiliated with the Trinity M. E. church here, and belonged to the Bible class for Ladies Aid of the church, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Mothers Club, and the Twentieth Century Club. Mrs Grimes was born at the McIntyre homestead three miles south of Stockwell, and which has been known as McIntyre Corner. The homestead has been in the family for 100 years. She was the daughter of Francis B. and Frances Luzette (Wright) McIntyre. Surviving are a son, Jesse B. a daughter Florence R. and a sister, Emma. Dr. T. F. Williams of Trinity NM. E. church assisted by Rev. Harry B. Parker of Delphi, will officiate at the funeral at the family home at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial at Union cemetery, Clark’s Hill.
