Services for August W. Steward of Raymond rural route one, World War two veteran, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Hough funeral home by Rev. Roy Doll of Girard. Burial will be in Raymond city cemetery.
Friends may call today between 4 and 9 p.m.
Mr. Steward, 68 last Aug. 9, died Monday morning at 5:45 o'clock in Carlinville area hospital.
Born in Macoupin county, a son of the late Joseph and Ella Schadd Steward, he married Elsie Meece at Carlinville on Jan. 21, 1935.
Mr. Steward was employed by Schien Body & Equipment Co., at Carlinville as a welder until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion post 554 at Carlinville.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Dallas Steward of Raymond rural route one with two grandchildren, John and Dena.
He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jo Andres of Hillsboro, Mrs. Anna Gasser of Donnellson and Mrs. Nora Jane Seago of Litchfield.
Preceding him in death were a brother Dan on Sept. 25, 1943 and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Massey on Oct. 8, 1953.
