ALBIA - John H. Stansbeary, 67, died Wednesday (16 April 1975) at Ottumwa Hospital. He was born May 20, 1907, in Monroe County to William and Blanche Dicks Stansbeary. On Sept. 28, 1931 (should be 24 September,1932 in Albia, Monroe Co., IA), he married Gertrude Van Loon. She died in 1964.
He was a farmer and a former employee of John Morrell & Co. in Ottumwa. Surviving are four sons, John R. of Albia, Dale G. of Oskaloosa, Bill E. of Kansas City, Mo., and Jack L. of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Lola Grant. He also was preceded in death by one brother.
The service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Corners Church, with the Rev. Osa Popp officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Corners Cemetery (Monroe Co., IA). The body is at Geyer-Lewis Funeral Home.
