His education privileges were those of the common schools and Lowell High School. The family came to Lowell from Connecticut in October 1858. His life occupation was that of a farmer, and he owned 230 acres of land on sections 14 and 23 in Lowell township, in a good state of improvement, with substantial homestead buildings. It was known as Spring Hill Farm. He was an enthusiastic agriculturist and fruit raiser; for many years giving especial attention to the raising of potatoes with much success. Mr. Post married, at Lowell, September 9, 1868, Ella Calista Carter, who came to Lowell in 1855. They had four children - Zeno H., born July 4, 1869; Wilber E., born March 20, 1877; Audie E., born October 8, 1878, and Otice C., born November 10, 1883.
