Elmer O. Brand passed away at the Home hospital in Lafayette early Tuesday morning, his demise having been due to peritonitis, occasioned by a burst appendix. He had been ill six days. The deceased man lived six miles southwest of Mulberry, on the old Holliday farm, which he owned. He was a son of Eli L. and Agnes Muse Brand, and was born on the Brand farm down on road 38, northwest of Mulberry, on October 24, 1884. He married Miss Gretchen Bull, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robeson Bull, on Aug. 1, 1916. He is survived by the widow, a daughter, Helen; his mother, and a brother, Charles W. Brand, of Bloomington, Ind. He was a member of the Dayton Presbyterian church and the Dayton Masonic lodge.

The funeral service was conducted at the Dayton church, Thursday afternoon, Pastor H. W. Steen officiating.
