Bob was born in Eldorado, Texas, to the late James Patrick and Kara (Langford) Donahew. He attended Elm Mott Elementary School and graduated from LaVega High School in 1946. Bob received a full scholarship in mathematics from Baylor University but had to go to work to help support his family. In 1950, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served as a Military Policeman in Gallup, N.M. On Oct. 31, 1950, he was united in marriage to Audrey Duncan in West. Bob worked for Sherwin Williams Company in Garland in the chemical coating division from 1953 until he retired in 1985. Bob and Audrey returned to Elm Mott and built a home where they lived until 2008.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife on March 24, 2010; and brothers, Melvin Donahew and James P. Donahew Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise English of Granbury; granddaughter, Kristin Porter and husband, David, of Austin; great-granddaughter, Lilly Joeann Porter; nieces and nephews including, Lynda and Paul Svacek, Cindy Crisler, Diane and Gary Gray, and Marianne Donahew; and many other relatives and friends
