Carl Bethke Passed Away
Funeral services were held at the Nazarene Church in Kelliher Saturday at 2 p.m. for Carl Herman Bethke, 87, pioneer resident of Waskish, who died at the Good Samaritan Home at Kelliher Thursday where he had been a patient 1 1/2 days. Rev. Albin Carlson of Waskish officiated, with burial in Fairview cemetery under the direction of the Kolden-Snustad Funeral Home.
Born in Germany Nov. 2, 1887, Mr. Bethke was a sailor before coming to America in 1910, locating at Lincoln, Neb. He moved to Waskish in 1912 and his marriage to Katie Gross took place at Bemidji in 1922 and they have since lived in Waskish.
Surviving are his widow; a brother, Ernest Bethke and seven nephews in Germany; a niece, Mrs. Kirt Treske of Blackduck.
