Franklin "Frank" Pierce Altig is the son of James Altig and Sarah Ann (Potter) Altig.

Frank was married twice.

His first marriage was to Elizabeth Clary in 1884.

Frank's second marriage was to Frances/Francis Carter on March 6, 1907 at St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Both gave their residence as Menard County, Illinois. Her name on the certificate is spelled Francis.

Elizabeth M. Altig, age 42, died in Sangamon County, Illinois on November 15, 1906. She is buried at Concord Cemetery in Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois.

His second wife, his widow Frances, was married as Mrs. Frances Altig to Ira. T. Murphy on June 6, 1920 at Woodbury County, Iowa.

Mrs. Bell Weaver received word on the l5th inst. that her mother, Mrs. Frank Altig, of Petersburg, Illinois, was dead.

The funeral of Frank Altig, a pioneer resident of Vernon, [Colorado] was held last Sunday and the remains laid to rest in the Glendale Cemetery. Mr. Altig settled near Vernon in the early days, but a few years back he moved east. There his first wife died and he was later married again. Some two years ago he began to suffer with his stomach. This continued to grow worse until death claimed him. He leaves a wife and several grown children to mourn his demise. A number of Wray friends attended the funeral.

"Mr. and Mrs. Henry Altig came down Thursday evening from their home near Boulder to attend the funeral of the former's brother Frank Altig, which was held Saturday at Glendale.

Mr. and Mrs. Altig were guests of Mrs. A1tig's brother A. J. Miller, and family of Wray until their return to Boulder Sunday They will be remembered by some of the older settlers near Vernon, having resided there about twenty years ago.
