The son of the late Lucian and Velma (neé Begley) Barrett.
Predeceased by infant sister Carrie, Cledia Slaughter, Anna Hogan, Eva Bakai,
Brother Ralph and his son Mark. Survived by brothers Seth and Richard and sister Lorena.
Wife Lovena (neé Ashley). Daughter LaNell

Mr. Barrett entered the Army before turning 16. Left honorably after 8 years enlisted, including a year in combat in Korea and other duties, at the rank of E-9. An elite marksman with the then highest scores in both rifles and mortars. Also was selected for the Honor Guard, twice assigned with the detail protecting then Vice President Nixon.

After the military he retired from GE Appliance Park, the last several years as a maintenance foreman with a degree from U of L.

Dad went into a coma after a fall. The hospital he was checked out in missed 5 of the 7 ribs he'd broken. And for whatever reason failed to notice he had cerebral hemmoraging.
