Nota bene: "According to census info from 1850, Elias was married to Jane and living with their children. Living neighbors to them was the WIDOW Jane Frazier and her children. There is an 1853 IL marriage certificate between Jane Frazier (Jane Seybold Caddell Frazier) and Elias Briggs. There is an undated marriage license recorded between Jane REDDICK (born 1806) and Elias Briggs. My belief is that Jane Reddick is his 1st wife and did indeed die in 1851, whereupon he marries Jane Frazier. Elias dies in 1868 and Jane Frazier Briggs in 1868."
