Roger's obituary as it appeared in the Preston, MN newspaper: Roger Schwartz, who was making a splendid recovery from a delicate brain operation to which he submitted last February at Rochester, suffered a stroke on Monday of last week and passed away last Thursday afternoon at his home here. Roger, age 52, was born here on August 28, 1890. On February 6, 1911, he married Miss Gertrude Losey of this village, who survives with two sons, Joseph of Lansing, Iowa and Roy at home. He is also survived by his aged mother Mrs. Gust Schwartz, a sister Mrs. Frank Ford, and five brothers, Wallace, Frank, John, Ernie and Warren of Preston. All have our sincere sympathy. Mr. Schwartz was employed by the Milwaukee Road as section crew worker for many years, and resided here all of his life excepting a few years that he was section foreman at Spring Grove. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 from the home and 2:30 from the Evangelical church, Rev. George E. Bahr officiating. He was laid to rest in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were his five brothers, and his brother-in-law Frank Ford.
