Ronald Douglas Hagood went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 5, 2011, after suffering a heart attach in the arms of his beloved wife, Tonya. Ron was born on June 20, 1947 in Lubbock to Warner and Louise Hagood. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Lubbock High School where he played football. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business from Austin College, where he was a four year starting offensive end on the team that was ranked the top ten NAIA. After graduation in 1969, Ron joined Clampit Paper Company. In 1986 he became General Manager of Monarch Paper and from 1994 in sales at BRW Paper Company.

Survivors include his wife, Tonya; daughter, Ellen and husband, Jeff Benson; son, Clayton; mother, Louise; brother, Bobby and wife Joyce; sister, Beverly and husband Bob Holmes; and sister, Karen Justice.

Ron will be remembered as bigger than life. He was loved by everyone who knew him and he touched people's lives in so many positive ways. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Austin College, 900 North Grand Ave., Sherman, TX 75090, in his name. Ron and Tonya have taught Bible Classes at Watermark Church, where a celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 in the chapel. The family will receive friends after the service.
