ZEPHYR - Elvie Bryce, 73, died Wednesday in a Brownwood hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Zephyr Cemetery.

Mr. Bryce was born in Florence and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lois Martin in 1946 in Snyder and formerly lived in Grapevine. He worked as a plumber until retiring in 1987. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association and Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, of Zephyr; one son, Dwain Bryce of Euless; one daughter, Wyvone Sherrod of Blanket; two sisters, Jewell Lilly of Lometa and Opal Haynie of Lampasas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
