Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Miss Salome Knoefel, who died of a heart attack at her home at one o'clock Friday morning, April 30. Services were conducted by the Rev. John DeVries at 2 o'clock at the home. Burial was in the family lot in Groveland cemetery. Pallbearers were C. E. Hummel, Frank Shandorf, Ralph Chester, Walter Thielbar, George Babcock and Karl Albers. Salome Helene, daughter of J. Gustav and Marie Knoefel was born in Dundas and except for several winters spent in Faribault with her sister, Miss Emma Knoefel, then a member of the grade school faculty there, lived her entire life in the home where she was born. A heart difficulty developed in early childhood from which she suffered all her life. While living in Faribault she attended the Baptist church and was supervisor of the Sunday School. She was a member of the Dundas Methodist Church, superintendent of the Primary department and worked in other branches of the Sunday School and an officer of the Church Board, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and The Dundas Study Club, Miss Knoefel is survived by her sister, Emma, a brother, George of St. Paul, and a nephew, Hugo Knoefel of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
