The Reverend Azariah Tomlin, my third Great Grandfather, was a Minister of the Gospel. He was born 17 August 1810 in Georgia. He is believed to be the son of Jacob Tomlin and wife Rebecca of Edgefield, South Carolina. Jacob was born in 1770 Edgefield, South Carolina and died 29 September 1841 in Girard, Russell County, Alabama. Jacob's parents are believed to be James Tomlin and Elizabeth Franklin of Georgia.

Azariah married Nancy McSwain, believed to be the daughter of Dennis McSwain of Georgia. They are believed to have had the following children: Julia, Marietta, Sarah, Josephine and Wilson.

Wilson Tomlin was my 2nd Great Grandfather. He married Martha Louise Murphy in 1864 and had six children. Their daughter Nancy Tomlin married my Great Grandfather William S. Sanderlin. Their daughter Lucy Myrtle Sanderlin Moseley who married Watt Moseley was my grandmother.
