Jesus took her by the hand and led her to the promised land ... Geraldine Allyn Cressman, 86 (born 8 October 1920), of Temple Street in Owego, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at her home. She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Ralph, a daughter, Janice Reed of Owego; sons, Gordon (Sherry) Cressman of Newark Valley, David Cressman of Owego, Craig (Ellen) Cressman of Newark Valley; grandchildren, Gordon Jr., Erin, Melissa (Jean) Cressman, Dale Short, Bryon Cressman, Samantha (Jason) Dye, Danielle Cressman, Aiden Cressman, Lane Reed, Brittany and Hannah; a great-granddaughter, Marah Dye; brothers, Eugene (Nora) Allyn of Okla., Hartley (Jean) Allyn of Apalachin, Dever Allyn of Waverly; sister, Laura Jean Strunk of Endicott; sister-in-law, Gladys Allyn of Warren Center, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Myrtle (Coffman) Allyn; sister, Phyllis Brennan and brother, Henry Allyn. She was a graduate of Athens High School and of Allentown Bible Institute. Geraldine was a member of the Owego First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flowers, and was a great witness and follower of Christ. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her memory will live within our hearts forever. Funeral services and celebration of Geraldine's life will be held at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at the Owego First Church of the Nazarene on Route 17C in Owego, N.Y., with Pastor Dennis King officiating. A period of visitation and sharing will be held from 10 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, in Lounsberry. Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to a charity of one's choice.
