Betty Jean Minier, 67, of 205 W. 18th St., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1993, in Sioux Valley Hospice Cottage. Betty Phipps was born March 19, 1926, in Pender, Neb. She married George L. Minier on Aug. 25, 1943, in Papillion, Neb. She was a school teacher until she retired in 1973 because of ill health. Her last teaching position was at Renberg School in Renner. She was a life member of the Presbyterian Church, a member of the Eastern Star, South Dakota Education Association (SDEA), National Federation of the Blind, and the National Honor Society. Survivors include her husband, George of Sioux Falls; two sons: George Jr. of East Grand Forks, N.D.; and William L. of St. Joseph, Minn.; four daughters: Dianne Metli of Sioux Falls; Judith E. Minier of Laramie, Wyo.; Kathryn L. Latte of Forest City, Iowa; and Rebecca Sue Minier of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren; one brother, Merle Wick of Sacramento, Calif.; and two sisters: Lorraine Bliss of Tekemah, Neb.; and Vivian Schramek [sic] of Omaha, Neb. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in Miller Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Sioux Valley Hospice Cottage.
