Alma Dorothy Lane, 92, of Sterling, died Nov. 6, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Berean Church, with the Rev. Daniel A. Holsten officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Sterling to Jacob and Pauline (Frank) Bauder. She grew up on a farm southeast of Sterling. She graduated from Harding High School in 1936.
She worked at Journal Office Supply from 1956 until 1959, then worked for the county commissioners, retiring July 30, 1982.
On Aug. 14, 1939, she married Ralph W. Lane in Sidney, Neb.
Mrs. Lane was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Albrandt and husband Don of Sterling; son, Elton Lane and wife Carroll of Sterling; grandchildren, Shawn Lane and wife Lori of Flagstaff, Ariz., Cristen Wheeler and husband Ronnie of Sterling, Richard Albrandt and wife Donna of Brighton; great-grandchildren, Regan and Matthew Wheeler of Sterling and Kennedy and Lauren Lane of Flagstaff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Lane in 1985; four brothers and four sisters.
