According to obituary in "The Daily Courier" dated 11/17/1943,"...Joseph B. Hixson, 88 years old died at 4.15 o'clock this morning at his home at North Scottdale after a 10-day illness. He was born and reared on a farm at Reagontown and owned and operated farms in the vicinity virtually all of his of life. He was a charter member of Eureka Grange at Hawkeye and a member of the First Methodist Church of Scottdale. His wife Mrs. Emma Myers Hixson died in 1926."
