Vera Frances (Martin) Hennis, 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Hope Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Ind., with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Terre Haute, Indiana under the direction of Family Funeral Care of Indianapolis.

Fran was retired from Clay Community Schools. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Ind., Hewitt Community Church in Hewitt, the D.A.R., and she trusted Jesus for salvation on July 16, 1943.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Hennis; sister, Jean Knoop; and granddaughter, Andrea.

She is survived by her daughters, Dee Lyden and husband, Robert, and Angelyn Grisham, and husband, Robert; sons, Charles Hennis and wife, Sandra, and Ronald Hennis and wife, Lori; daughter-in-law, Monika Hennis-Mahloch; grandchildren, Devin, Kimalyn, Doug, Joi, Dana, Toni, and Adria; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Noble Martin and wife, Donna; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
