Jo Ellen Hufford, 85, Tipton, died at 8:53 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011.. She was born April 8, 1926, in Ekin to Herman G. and Martha Esther (Thompson) Lewis. On Nov. 3, 1944, she married Ross Merritt Hufford, Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1998.. She retired from Delco Electronics in 1981. Jo Ellen was a member of East Union Christian Church, Moose, American Legion and Order of the Eastern Star.. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing games and puzzles. Jo Ellen also liked shopping and eating out.. She is survived by four children, Ross M. (Peggy) Hufford, Jr., Melody Hufford, Robert J. Hufford, and Susan (Danny) Davis, all of Tipton; grandchildren Ross M. (Shannon) Hufford III, Joseph M. (Kim) Hufford, Whitney M. (Nick) Huff, Austin M. Hufford, Sarah K. Davis, Daniel J. (Kara Smith) Davis and David (Liz) Hewitt; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Watson.. Jo Ellen's funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Dunning presiding. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday..
