Clarence B. Achenbach, 78, of 2125 Rockford Rd. SW, died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born May 29, 1911, at Winnetoon, Nebraska, he married Betty Lieber Oct. 1, 1956, at Nashua. Mr. Achenbach farmed for many years near Mechanicsville and later worked at FMC for 13 years, retiring in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Cedar Rapids; a son, David and a daughter, Dawn Lambert, both of Cedar Rapids; a stepdaughter, Barbara Rosdail of Crownsville, Maryland; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday Cedar Memorial Funeral Home by the Rev. Clarence DeBoef of Center Point United Methodist Church. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. The casket will be closed before the service.
