Eldrin E. Linneman, 77, of Columbia passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Eldrin was an U.S. Army veteran of 21 years; he served three tours in Southeast Asia, culminating with Vietnam. Afterward, he was a residential construction foreman who built homes in Columbia and the surrounding region. He loved woodworking and was always quick to oversee projects and teach his grandchildren. He dedicated his life to his family and the Christian faith. He greatly enjoyed family gatherings for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter and truly enjoyed the Fourth of July and veterans' holidays. Eldrin was born to Eldor and Norma Rohwer Linneman on May 28, 1934, in Forest Green. On Dec. 22, 1956, he married Christal Lyons at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green. Eldrin and Christal were married for 50 years until her passing in 2007. In 2009, Eldrin married Mary Hendrickson in Centralia, and she survives. Eldrin was preceded in death by his former wife, Christal; and parents Eldor and Norma Rowher Linneman. In addition to his wife, Mary Sims Hendrickson of Columbia, Eldrin is survived by his children, Mitchell (Mary) Linneman of Troy, Ill., and Janet (Jack) Pestle of Columbia; two stepchildren; grandchildren Miranda (Troy) Irvin of Highland, Ill., Micah Linneman of Troy, and Andrew, Quinn and Grant Pestle of Columbia; four stepgrandchildren; and siblings William Linneman of Salisbury, Robert Linneman of Forest Green and Normal Lou Stanley of Kirksville.
