After Charley and Jennie divorced, he married Grace Mary (Madison ) Ruffner on November 11, 1916 in Des Moines. She had two children Reginald and Gladys Ruffner. To this union was born seven children: William, Roy, Helen, Ruth, Esther, Arthur and Harold.
