Florence "Grace" Adams, 89, of Florence Street, Dalton, passed away peacefully at Springside Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.

Grace was born July 20, 1922 in Dalton on the Flinstone Farm. She was the daughter of Ralph and Bertha Violet Eaton Kendall.

Grace attended local schools and graduated from the old Dalton High School. She worked for the Dalton School Systems from 1965 until her retirement in 1986 upon her retirement she was the secretary of the Vice Principal Dick Farley.

Grace enjoyed the Current Events Club and was a member of the order of the Eastern Star; Grace was well known in Dalton for her Pies especially Rhubarb. Grace was a long time member of the Dalton United Methodist Church.

Grace is predeceased by her late husband Donald S. Adams whom she married on August 29, 1941; he passed away in April of 2008.

Grace's survivors include her sons Donald K. Adams of Hinsdale and James R. Adams of Lanesboro; her daughter Marilyn G. Johnson of Fort Mill, South Carolina; her sister Mildred Kerr of Arizona; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers Ralph Kendall and Robert "Red" Kendall.

In accordance to her wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours; following cremation, burial will be in Ashuelot Cemetery with her husband in the spring.
