Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Benham, age 90, formerly of 247 Pecks Road, Pittsfield, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she resided for the past three years.

She was born in Dalton on June 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Edmund H. and Jessie Adams Fletcher. She was a resident of Pittsfield most of her life.

Mrs. Benham was a 1940 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. She was employed as an assembler in the General Electric Company in Pittsfield for ten years.

She was the widow of Harold J. Benham, who died November 5, 1985. They were married in 1940. She was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

Survivors include one son David E. Benham of Lenox and a daughter Patricia Sharkey of Golden, Colorado. She was the beloved grandmother to Wendy Benham Levin, David J. Benham, Michael Sharkey, Matthew Sharkey, Daniel Sharkey, and Timothy Sharkey. Loving great-grandmother to Brittany Benham, Dillon Benham, Kyle Sharkey, and Camden Sharkey. Mrs. Benham was pre-deceased by five sisters, Mary Knight, Helen Corseri, Jeannette Foulker, Margaret Rogers, and Nellie Hunt. She was also pre-deceased by two brothers, John and Edward Fletcher.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
