He died at St. Francis Hospital, following an illness of one year. He was a retired cement mason.
He was born to Amund and Bertha Stigen Berquam. He spent his first 14 years in Sturgis, S.D., and two years in Amery, Wis., before returning to Spring Grove. He married Ella Treangen, March 19, 1929, in Spring Grove.
Surviving were: his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Milford (Emma) Landsom, Mrs. Morris (Geneva) Tweeten and Mrs. Hayward (Elvina) Bentley, Spring Grove, and Mrs. Arland (Lillian) Folstad, Mabel; 12 grandchildren; a step-mother, Mrs. Anna Berquam, Mabel; a brother, Arnold, Spring Grove, and two sisters, Mrs. Inga Krogstad, Spring Grove and Mrs. Oberlin (Theoline) Wold, Amery, Wis. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
