William Edward McLeod was born on June 18, 1852, in Genoa, Ohio, his father, Alfred McLeod, was 30 and his mother, Rebecca [Nutt] McLeod, was 29. He married Frances E Martin in 1871. They had two children during their marriage. He died on October 20, 1932, in his hometown at the age of 80, and was buried in Berlin, Ohio.
