Lucy Parker, daughter of Joseph Parker and his wife Lucy Boyd, was born in Mountain Township, Dundas County, Upper Canada (Ontario). After her parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1839, they left Mountain on 15 August 1840 and traveled to Commerce, Illinois, arriving 9 October 1840. Two months later Commerce was incorporated as the town of Nauvoo. Both Lucy and her mother Lucy died there in 1845.
