HOKAH, Minn. -- Magdalen A. Von Arx, 88, formerly of Houston, Minn., died Friday, Feb. 11, 1994, in La Crescent Health Care Center. She was born in South Ridge, Minn., May 20, 1905 to Felix and Catherine (Reinhart) Hafner. She married John Von Arx May 3, 1927 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hokah. He preceded her in death in 1985. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Senn of Washburn, Iowa, and Bernice (Lowell) Onsgard of Houston, Minn.; two sons, Robert (Doris) Von Arx of Hokah, and Roger (Sandra) Von Arx of Apple Valley, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Horihan of St. Paul, Minn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, from Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crescent; and 10:30 a.m., from St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hokah. The Rev. Paul Breza will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hokah. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight, at the funeral home, where a 7 p.m. rosary will be recited.
