Henry H. Lehms, 79, of Durant, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 1958, at his home in Durant.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 15, at the Durant Chapel in Durant. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Henry Herman Lehms was born August 15, 1879, in Muscatine County, the son of Frederick and Christina (Ahrens) Lehms. He received his education in the Muscatine County schools. He married Anna Marie Bangert on March 8, 1904. Together they farmed near Blue Grass for 15 years and then moved to a farm one mile north of Durant, until they retired in 1953 and moved to Durant. He was a member of the Davenport Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; one daughter, Arleen (Alvin) Hansen of Durant; one grandson; one great-grandson; three sisters, Sophie Stramp of Iowa City, Alvina (Christian) Alt of Blue Grass and Adelaide Fridley of Muscatine; and two brothers, William Lehms of Durant and Arthur Lehms of Plain View.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Marie Lehms, one son, Lloyd Lehms, one brother, Fritz Lehms; and two brothers-in-law, John Stramp and Wilbur Fridley.
