Elizabeth Jane Jamieson was born at her grandmother's house on Wilko Hill at the town of Webster, Pa. She lived her childhood years in a rental bungalow on Wiegle's Hill in Elizabeth, Pa. She was an outstanding student and a good athlete, attending school in Elizabeth, Pa. She met Russell Jones at a Glassport skating rink in 1942. Betty was 16 and Russell was 19. They married on March 9, 1943 in Weirton, WVa. Russell left for the army the next day. They spent the wedding night at Russell's father's (and wife Pearl Darnell Jones) house.
Betty was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She did a wonderful job of providing home hospice care for her mother, her mother-in-law and her husband.
