Dr. Alma Bridger Richards of 1214 Central, the second woman to practice medicine in Memphis, died at her home yesterday. She was 80.

Dr. Richards, who graduated at the top of her class at the University of Tennessee Medical Unit in 1917, practiced Obstetrics in Memphis 50 years before retiring. Her offices were in the Medical Arts Building, and in her home.

Dr. Richards was a Board member of the Mary Galloway Home and the YWCA on South Second for many years. She was also a member of the American Medical Association and a member of First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Spencer-Sturla & Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Forest Hill.
She leaves a sister, Miss Ruth Bridger of 340 Malvern.
