Annie Mae Acker 1995 Bridgewater Bulletin

Annie Mae Acker, 92, Dean's Corner, passed away Thursday, December 28, 1995, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Second Peninsula, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Georgina Meisner Schnare. She was a school janitor at Martin's Brook School for many years; then worked as a homemaker for Joe and Lela Purcell; Fishermen's Memorial Hospital (housekeeping department) and then in the laundry until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Evangeline Veinotte; Ruth (Mrs. Ronald Tanner), Dean's Corner; Mary (Mrs. Merrill Schnare), Schnare's Crossing; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Thomas; a son, George; brothers, Fred (who had originally lived in the United States for many years), Aubrey and Willie; half-brothers, Robie and Harry Schnare; son-in-law, St.Clair Veinotte; grandson, Peter.

The body rested at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service was held Saturday, December 30, 1995, at Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, 2:00 p.m., Rev. Douglas Moore officiating. Interment was in Martin's Brook Cemetery. Hymns sung were "The Lord is my Shepherd," "Jesus Saviour, Pilot Me," and "Abide With Me."
