Urban Eischens, 79, of Le Sueur, passed away on Sat., Dec. 16, 2006 surrounded by his loving family.

Urban was born April 23, 1927 in New Market, Minn., to Nick and Theresa (Tholkes) Eischens. He was raised on the family farm where he helped his father. Urban married Patricia Conroy at the Cathedral in St. Paul on Feb. 18, 1950. He began work at the Cargill shipyards in Savage. He moved to Hungry Horse, Mont. where he hauled lumber. Urban worked as a foreman on the Hungry Horse Dam. He bought and ran the Town Pump Bar in Whitefish, Mont. In 1956 he returned to Minnesota where he ran Eischen?s Bar in Belle Plaine for 32 years. Urbie loved to hunt, fish and play cards.

He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at various sporting events.

Urban is survived by many loving family members and friends, along with special friend, Barbara Gerdes.

Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 4-8 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and also one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church on Wednesday. A memorial service celebrating his life was held at the St. Anne Catholic Church in LeSueur on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 10:30 a.m. with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
