They lived in Reine Township of Roseau County, MN for most of their lives. Louis passed away in 1947, and is buried in Roseau County, MN. Note that on most legal documentation, including census records, his name is spelled Louis. However, on Hilda's death certificate and on his headstone, his name is spelled Lewis.
Hilda was a farm wife and in later years was an interior decorator for private homes. They had no children together.
Hilda passed away 11 Oct 1938 at Moorhead, Clay, MN of cancer. Funeral services for her were held at the Bethania Lutheran Church rural Perley, Friday, Oct. 14, 1938. Pastor Thomas Anderson officiated. Pall bearers were Warren Hovden, Eugene Hovden, Emery Rude, Kenneth Frater, Delos Frater and Erwin Rude.
