LA CRESCENT, Minn. -- Thelma B. Schnedecker, 90, of 310 S. Oak St., La Crescent, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1993, at the La Crescent Health Care Center. She was born on July 27, 1902, in Stoddard, Wis., to Torger and Hannah (Hammer) Olson. She married Fred Schnedecker on Oct. 20, 1947, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hokah, Minn. Thelma and her husband had farmed for many years outside of Hokah. She was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Peter's Church.
In addition to her husband, Fred, she is survived by two sons, Morris (Ardith) Amsrud of La Cresent, and Harold (Donna) Amsrud of New Brighton, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Betty Amsrud of La Crosse; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reuben Amsrud, two sons, one daughter, four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at 9:45 a.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crescent, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hokah, Minn. The Rev. Paul J. Breza will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Hokah. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m., where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
